1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Ethos Social ("Ethos", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Your Use of the Service
You may use Ethos Social only for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Transactions and Digital Goods
Ethos Social provides a platform where users can support verified talent and access platform utilities. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Commercial Exchange: Any payments made on the platform—including but not limited to purchasing 'Take Retries,' backing creator projects, or acquiring digital credits—are commercial transactions for specific digital goods, functional rewards, or access.
- Not a Donation: These payments are not charitable donations or service industry tips. They are a direct exchange of value for the digital items or services provided by Ethos Social or its verified creators.
- Digital Goods License: When you purchase or acquire a digital item (such as a 'Take Retry'), Ethos Social grants you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use that item within the platform. These items have no "real world" cash value and cannot be exchanged for fiat currency.
- All Sales Final: Except as provided in the Fraud and Dispute Protocol below, all sales of digital goods and functional credits (such as 'Take Retries') are final. Once a digital utility is consumed or a reward tier is unlocked, the transaction is non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.
- Fraud and Unauthorized Transactions: Ethos Social will investigate claims of unauthorized or fraudulent activity. If a transaction is determined to be the result of a documented security breach or unauthorized use of a payment method, Ethos Social will facilitate a refund, subject to our payment processor's capabilities.
- AI-Verification Safeguards: Because all creators on Ethos are verified, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for fraudulent listings. If a creator is found to have committed fraud, their account will be permanently banned, and any pending payouts will be sequestered to indemnify affected purchasers.
- Billing Disputes: Users agree to first contact help@ethos.social to resolve any billing discrepancies before initiating a formal chargeback with their bank. Unauthorized or frivolous chargebacks may result in temporary account suspension during the investigation period.
- Payout Schedule and Timing: Funds from transactions are typically held for a standard 2-day settlement period (T+2) before becoming available for payout, though it may take longer. For verified creators, payouts are then initiated on a daily rolling basis to their linked Stripe Connect account. Please note that a creator’s initial payout may be subject to a one-time security delay of up to 14 days to ensure platform integrity and account verification.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to post content that:
- Violates any federal, state, or local law.
- Infringes intellectual property rights.
- Contains defamation, true threats, or harassment.
- Depicts sexual content involving minors.
5. Community Guideliunes
At Ethos Social, we believe in free speech and action. You may post any content that is legal under applicable laws. By using Ethos, you agree not to post content that:
- Violates any federal, state, or local law.
- Infringes intellectual property rights.
- Contains defamation, true threats, or harassment.
- Includes targeted hate or calls for violence against protected groups.
- Depicts sexual content involving minors.
- Content that contains nudity, explicit sexual acts, or adult services. The monetization of adult content is strictly prohibited on the platform.
We encourage open expression; content that does not violate the above is permitted.
